960HP electric Porsche leaves McLaren 720S in drag race

A McLaren 720S takes on a heavily modified electric Porsche 944 in an unusual quarter-mile drag racing matchup. The Porsche has been converted to electric power using two large DC motors that produce around 960 horsepower and approximately 1,500 pound-feet of instant torque. It also weighs only about 2,400 pounds, giving it an extremely strong power-to-weight ratio. The McLaren relies on its twin-turbo V8, lightweight carbon construction, and strong high-speed acceleration to stay competitive. From the start, the electric Porsche delivers its power immediately without waiting for turbo boost or gear changes. That instant response allows it to build a significant advantage before the McLaren can fully use its speed. The host reviews how the Porsche’s low weight and massive torque make the gap difficult for the 720S to recover. The video also looks at other electric performance cars attending the event and discusses the direction of future high-performance EVs. A Tesla Roadster prototype is shown as another example of how electric power could push quarter-mile acceleration even further. Later runs feature modified McLaren 720S cars recording low-nine-second passes, providing extra context for just how quick the electric Porsche is.

10 Suzukis that refused to die & 10 that never found an audience

Suzuki has spent decades making some of the most stubbornly reliable vehicles on the planet, the kind that outlive their own marketing budgets. It has also produced a genuinely strange run of flops that vanished from showrooms within a couple of years. Both sides say something about the company, since Suzuki tends to succeed when it keeps things small and simple, and struggles the moment it tries to compete somewhere it doesn't belong. The survivors kept going through emissions crackdowns and entire market exits, while the failures barely made it past their second model year. Here's 10 Suzukis that refused to die, and 10 that never found an audience.

"Drives like a pig" - Behind the worst rated Top Gear car

A modern test revisits the Lexus convertible that Top Gear once called the worst car in the history of the world. The video breaks down the major complaints, from the strange styling and slow folding roof to the heavy weight, high price, and unusual place in the luxury market. While some criticisms still hold up, the car’s comfortable ride, quiet cabin, strong V8, and well-aged interior complicate the original verdict. The review also questions whether Top Gear’s influence helped shape the car’s reputation long after it left showrooms. The result is a more balanced look at a controversial luxury car that may be flawed, overpriced, and misunderstood rather than truly terrible.

1,020HP Tesla Plaid faces 1,000HP McLaren 720S drag race

A 1,020-horsepower Tesla Model S Plaid takes on a modified McLaren 720S Spider producing roughly 1,000 horsepower at the engine. The McLaren uses upgraded downpipes, air filters, and custom tuning to produce approximately 850 horsepower at the wheels. The Tesla relies on three electric motors, all-wheel drive, and instant torque to deliver strong acceleration from a complete stop. Before racing, its battery is at approximately 73 percent, which reduces some of its performance compared with a full charge. Plaid Mode and Drag Strip Mode are activated to prepare the electric drivetrain for the quarter-mile runs. The McLaren enters the matchup with a major weight advantage and strong acceleration once speeds begin to rise. From the starting line, the Tesla uses its immediate power delivery to gain an early advantage. The lighter McLaren then works to close the gap farther down the track with its tuned twin-turbo performance. The quarter-mile results show the two cars running extremely close despite using completely different approaches to straight-line speed. The matchup demonstrates how battery charge, vehicle weight, launch traction, and high-speed power delivery can determine the outcome between two cars with similar horsepower.

Whipple-blown 427 turns this C10 into a 900HP burnout machine

This classic Chevy C10 keeps its original patina and vintage character while hiding an outrageous modern drivetrain underneath. Power comes from a Nelson Racing 427 fitted with a 3.8-liter Whipple supercharger, producing around 953 horsepower at the wheels on E85 and nearly 1,200 lb-ft of torque, with the engine capable of roughly 1,400 horsepower on the dyno. A built 4L80 transmission, Ford 9-inch rear end, custom two-piece driveshaft, air suspension and large Baer brakes help manage the power, while cleverly designed 20-inch wheels are painted to look like old 15-inch steelies. The custom exhaust can route through mufflers for calmer street driving or switch to a much louder side-exit setup. Despite the huge power, the truck is built to remain usable, combining sleeper-style looks, handmade fabrication and enough torque to turn almost any drive into a burnout session.
